As a local employer and an organisation with a long and distinguished history in Cornwall we are committed to supporting the community that is both part of our heritage – and future.
We actively support a wide variety of different clubs and organisations – some examples below:
- We sponsor Goonhavern under 7’s youth football team, by supplying them with football tops, along with training tracksuit jackets.
- On site here at Wheal Jane, we provide a clubhouse facility for Wheal Velocity cycling team. We also let them have use of the whole site for race days, which is insured and adopted by British cycling as a recognised track. We have made the cycling club an off road mountain bike track in which they also host large events on.
- We provide a facility for the Cornwall Association of Woodturners. We let them have use of the building for a peppercorn rent and have done so for almost 20 years.
- We have the Cornwall Butterfly and Moth association on site at Wheal Jane as well. We let them use a large area of the site, in which we have left for conservation for their organisation.
- We donate £250.00 to Exeter university, for the prize of renewable energy “The Wheal Jane Group Prize”.
